About the course

This saxophone course offers a comprehensive and immersive musical experience centred around active participation in a 12-piece saxophone ensemble. Core components of the course include the development of essential musical skills, enhanced listening and the refinement of saxophone technique and sound production.

Each day begins with breathing and warm-up exercises to support effective practice and performance. Participants will gain valuable ensemble experience, performing as part of the full saxophone group and will also breakout into saxophone quartets to build ensemble awareness and collaborative skills in a more intimate setting.

Optional breakout sessions provide space for creative exploration through composition and improvisation, encouraging musical growth and personal expression.

With a maximum of just twelve participants and the guidance of two experienced tutors, you’ll benefit from plenty of personalised attention, both individually and in a group setting.

We welcome players from all musical backgrounds and styles. Across five dynamic, fun-filled days, you’ll dive into a rich variety of saxophone activities designed to inspire and challenge you. Expect immediate rewards in your playing, long-term musical growth, and plenty of thought-provoking ideas to take away with you!

Delicious meals are prepared daily by our chefs, featuring fresh, local ingredients and complemented by local wines. The evenings are a perfect time to relax, connect and unwind with fellow participants.

The course strikes a perfect balance between focused musical development in a supportive, inspiring environment and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere where shared musical goals, good conversation, and plenty of laughter make for a truly rewarding and memorable experience.

Tutors: Andy Scott & Jon Rebbeck

Level: We recommend a few years of playing experience and you're able to read music. Course limited to 12 places
