Founder members of the Apollo Saxophone Quartet (est.1985) to recent projects that include composing, performing and directing a full programme of music with American saxophone star Bob Mintzer and the City of Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, Andy & Jon combine musical imagination and creativity, coupled with a deep love and respect for many and varied styles of music.

 

The aims of the course are to discuss and develop your listening skills, music appreciation, saxophone technique, sound production, performing as part of a saxophone ensemble and explore outlets for your musical expression. Breathing and warm up exercises are essential aspects of any playing session and will feature at the start of each day. Optional sessions will include composing for saxophones and developing techniques to help the transfer from practice and rehearsal to the performance environment, such as visualisation. 

 

With numbers capped at twelve and with two experienced tutors, you will have plenty of contact time with Jon & Andy, individually and in a group setting.
