About the course

Discover the Joy of Improvisation – A Unique Musical Retreat in the Heart of the French Countryside

For many musicians, improvisation can feel mysterious, even intimidating - leaving you unsure of how or where to begin. But in truth, improvising can be wonderfully simple. And that’s exactly where we’ll start on this course.

Join a group of like-minded musicians in the tranquil setting of rural France, where we’ll explore practical and creative approaches to improvisation. While jazz will be our main focus, we’ll also delve into improvisation across a range of musical genres.

Our teaching style is hands-on and supportive. We’ll introduce easy-to-understand concepts and techniques designed to get you improvising from day one. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your skills, this course will expand your musical awareness, boost your confidence, and open the door to a new level of musical expression - and most importantly, you’ll have fun doing it.

Whether you’re a first-time improviser or have some experience under your belt, you’ll benefit from five days of immersive, creative exploration. With two experienced tutors on hand throughout, you’ll receive personalised guidance and feedback to help you develop your unique musical voice.

Bonus: Your learning doesn’t end after the retreat. You’ll receive one full year of post-course support - all included in the course price.

Spaces are limited to just 12 participants, ensuring an intimate and highly tailored experience and this course is open to all instruments - whatever you play, you’re welcome.

Reserve your place now and take the first step on an exciting improvisational journey!
